Your privacy
What happens to your photo and your details when you try on an outfit. Last updated 16 September 2026.
What happens to your photo
When you upload a photo, it goes to our server, an AI creates your try-on picture, and the picture comes straight back to your phone or computer. Your photo is never written to our storage, and neither is the picture we generate.
The try-on picture lives only in the page you are looking at. If you close the tab, refresh, or walk away, it is gone and cannot be recovered โ by you or by us. Tap Download if you want to keep it.
We do not use face recognition, we do not measure or record your body, and we do not try to identify you from your photo.
The details you type in
Whether your name, email and phone number are required depends on how the shop set up its try-on:
- Free try-on (no passcode): your name, email and WhatsApp/phone number are required. Providing them is what gives you access to the free try-on, and it lets the shop follow up and stops automated abuse.
- With a passcode from the shop: your details are optional. You can leave them blank and still try the outfit on.
Who sees your details
The shop. If you enter your details, they go to the shop whose QR code or link you used โ so it can answer questions about sizing, availability, custom orders, or a promotion you entered. The shop decides how it contacts you, and it is responsible for respecting your choices. To stop hearing from a shop, reply to it directly and ask.
Us. We keep a copy as a record of the try-on, to confirm the shop's credits were used correctly and to prevent fraud and bot abuse. We delete it 6 months after that shop's last activity.
Nobody else. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long things are kept
- Your photo: not kept at all.
- Your try-on picture: not kept at all.
- Your name, email and phone: 6 months after the shop's last activity, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to how it is used or to withdraw your consent โ and under the GDPR, to complain to your local data protection authority.
Email info@tryinstantfit.com with the subject Data Request, and include the email address or phone number you gave, plus the shop you tried on with if you remember it. We reply within 7 days and aim to finish within 30. It is free.
Because the shop also holds a copy, we will action your request on our side and pass it to the shop.
Age
This service is not intended for anyone under 16 without a parent or guardian's permission. Do not upload a photo of someone else without their agreement, or a photo of a child without their guardian's.
A few rules
- Only upload photos you are allowed to use.
- No explicit images, and nothing illegal.
- A try-on is an approximation. It is a guide, not a promise about fit, exact colour, fabric, or sizing โ check with the shop before buying.
- If you buy something, you are buying from the shop, not from Try Instant Fit. Delivery, returns and payment are between you and them.
